Fuelling on the bike is clearly very important, be that during a race or a training ride. However, what you fuel with, how often you fuel, and your fuelling strategy is not so clear. However, what you fuel with, how often you fuel, and your fuelling strategy is not so clear. When we exercise, it’s widely recommended we need somewhere in the region of 60 grams of carbohydrate per hour with us hitting those upper limits for higher intensity rides or during a race.
